Writing often comes by the sweat of one's brow. Had I waited for inspiration throughout my writing career, I would have written few words. Most of what I've written over the years has come from sheer perseverance and a strong determination to get the job done.
What about you? Do you wait to be inspired before you write? Do you believe the lie that you can't write until you are inspired?
One of Satan's chief lies is that we need to be inspired before we fill the blank page. Believing this lie results in procrastination, and procrastination results in lack of productivity.
And lack of productivity means no fruit.
Not a good thing for a believer who is supposed to be bearing fruit for Christ.
So, what's the problem? The problem is believing the lie instead of the truth.
The truth is that inspiration usually follows the act of putting pen to paper or fingers to keyboard. For the most part, inspiration does not precede writing; on the contrary, writing induces inspiration. Writing is the catalyst that triggers inspiration. And most of the time, inspiration comes in the very act of writing.
It's time to turn things around. What project have you been postponing and why? Are you afraid of failure? Afraid of success? Clueless as to where to begin? Whatever the reason, bite the bullet and face the root issue of your procrastination. Don't let Satan continue to rob you of your God-given destiny to proclaim God's truth through your written words.
