Wise Use of Branding and Taglines

Jillnelson1 Lyncote4

Jill Elizabeth Nelson here, hosting Lyn Cote, author of numerous romance novels. In browsing her web site, http://www.booksbylyncote.com, I noticed a catchy phrase in her banner, “Strong Women, Brave Stories.” This captures the flavor of Lyn’s books in a pithy nugget, so I’ve asked Lyn to talk to CAN blog readers about establishing a brand and coming up with a tagline that tells readers in a nutshell who you are as a writer and what they can expect from your books.

Welcome to the CAN blog, Lyn. I look forward to learning from you.

What About On-Line Social Networking?

Jillnelson11Jill Elizabeth Nelson here to help you explore the pros, cons, and possibilities of marketing through on-line social networks. A mind-boggling array of social network sites exist on the Internet, and if we want to protect our writing time from being gobbled up by them, we need to make wise choices about where and how to become involved. Some writers find it not worth their time to join any, but for many of us, social network sites can be fertile ground to cultivate readership.
