What is Your Mission Statement?

Adphoto_1

It's easy to get confused regarding a mission and a goal. In Strategic Planning, we develop our goals after we define our mission and our vision. But first...

This past week we've been getting organized. If you are just now tuning in to my Tuesday Musings on Strategic Planning, you can visit the archives to get up to speed. I received a lot of comments from readers about my last posting, some were posted on-line here for all to read, others came to me privately. All were very telling in that a whole lot of us had a rude awakening when we really got down to organizing our space. Suffice it to say, I think there are a lot more clean offices (and desks and filing drawers) this week! Now, make sure to develop a system where you stay on top of this, okay?!

The First Steps in Strategic Planning

Bottke9198c First thing...my apologies for missing last Tuesday. I woke up to find a deceased monitor (computer screen) and one thing led to another as one problem after another surfaced. When it rains it pours, huh? Throughout the ordeal I kept thinking of bestselling author Angie Hunt's memorable tag line on her webs site: "Expect the Unexpected." Especially the Internet life where technology challenges many of us to go where we have no desire to go. -smile-

If you're just tuning in to my Tuesday session on Strategic Planning, I encourage you to quickly review my Sept. 12 posting in the CAN BLOG archive.

Every Tuesday in 2006

Greetings Fellow Writers!

Lots of great information this past week from our Team of CAN Bloggers! But as I mentioned last Tuesday, I’m of the belief that all the great information in the world won’t amount to a hill of beans if you have no idea what it is you actually want to accomplish with your career. You can call what you do a “Ministry,” or an “Outreach,” or a “Business,” or a “Career,” but I call it a “not-so-serious-hobby” if you don’t have a Strategic Plan.

Strategy NOT Tragedy!

Bottke_01_1 Greetings Fellow Writers!

My head is spinning from all of the marketing and promotional advice from our fellow CAN Blogites! And it’s only the first week of our CAN Blog. Yikes! What are we going to do with all of this information? How will we process what we are learning? How do we apply this valuable advice? Are we even ready to begin implementing a marketing program?
