Maintaining a consistent blog presence is still one of the best ways to increase your online discoverability. But how do you make your blog posts, themselves, more discoverable? One sure-fire technique is to ask your readers to help spread the word. But don’t just ask—give them everything they need with a click-to-tweet link.
ClickToTweet.com is a free website that offers (their words) “the best, easiest and simplest way to promote and advertise your stuff on Twitter.” Here’s a quick 101:
STEP ONE: Write and publish your blog post.
STEP TWO: Select quotes from your post or write a short message (short enough to tweet) that could draw attention to your post content. (See below for some examples).
STEP THREE: Go to ClickToTweet.com.
STEP FOUR: Paste your quote or message in the white box.
STEP FIVE: Add a link to your blog post behind your message in the box.
STEP SIX: Click the Generate button.
STEP SEVEN: Highlight and copy the custom URL that is offered in the Here’s Your URL field.
STEP EIGHT: UPDATE your blog post by hyperlinking the custom URL behind text within your post.
Once the links are active on your post, your readers just click the link and an automatic tweet appears, already populated with your content. They can simply click the Tweet button to send.
