H! Jeanette is back. Thank you, Julie, for taking my spot the day after I had surgery. I read her post and it was great!
It’s hard to believe that next week in Thanksgiving. Then Christmas will be upon us. What happened to fall? Money is tight in our house right now, as it is for many, so I am coming up with creative gift-giving ideas. You’re probably doing the same. At the same time I want to use the season as an opportunity to promote books written by some of my author friends. Here is my plan. Feel free to borrow it.
If you want to join my “support your author friends” Christmas crusade you might want to give:
· Books written by CAN members
· Books by authors who have inspired or mentored you
· An author friend’s first book
· Purchase a copy of your own book from the bookstore and write a special note inside
· Include something cheap that book lovers enjoy like a coffee mug from The Dollar Store, homemade cookies, or a few tea bags or cocoa packets tied with a bow
Turn a Christmas of cutting back into an opportunity to have some fun and support your friends at the same time.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Jeanette
Jeanette, I too have a growing stack of books for my extended family Christmas gifts. I picked up several at the Motiv8 Tour event in Sacramento. I also ordered books from Lee Roddy and had them signed for my nieces and nephews.

Great ideas, Jeanette. I was just telling my husband last night that in this economy, books really are a terrific, low cost choice for gifts. And adding a fun trinket--or an autograph,as Elizabeth obtained--will make it extra special. Thanks for the reminder!
