Arrange Your Own Blog Tour
Jill Elizabeth Nelson here, hosting writer Cara Putman as she explains her method of arranging blog tours. The lovely lady in the photo to the left is Cara, not me. Here are simple blog tour instructions from Cara:
I am by no means an expert, but here's how I've organized blog tours for my books. Because I am a member of ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers), I sent out a call for folks who would be willing to participate. (Jill here: You can substitute for ACFW any active writers group where you are a member.)
For example, this month I have two books releasing, so I sent out one call asking people to choose whichever book might interest them more. I also personally asked several people who I know to write reviews for online sites.
I compiled the willing into an Excel spreadsheet. Now I will ship out autographed book to them, and will follow up with them in the next week to see if they have any questions. I also track in my spreadsheet what they plan to do and the date they will post. Then I can make sure I get the interviews or articles back to them in plenty of time. I also email an author photo and book cover jpeg. Anything to help break up the text.
Finally, if I'm being hosted on a blog or website, I add a sidebar to my blog that includes links to the different posts. I also post the reviews that are sent back to me on my blog and website.
Jill here: That's simple enough, even I could do it! I expect you could too!
Let's end with a blurb about one of Cara's current releases, Deadly Exposure from Love Inspired Romantic Suspense.
