Hey Friends! Susie Larson here...
Let's chat today about connecting with college libraries and bookstores.
While I am putting forth a significant effort to market my new release, I am still spending a portion of my time marketing the book that came before this one.
Currently I have two assistants who help me out on a project-by-project basis. Recently one of them conducted a search and drafted up a list of about 250 Christian colleges complete with addresses and contact names when available.
We took my basic cover letter for the Balance book and together we tweaked it to fit our purpose.
Here's a look at the sample cover letter that went out to over two hundred Christian colleges...

Regarding: Author & Book Introduction
Dear Friend,
My name is Susie Larson and I am the author of, Balance That Works When Life Doesn't: Simple Steps to a Women's Physical and Spiritual Health (Harvest House). This letter is to briefly inform you about the content of my book and to ask you to consider placing it upon the shelves of your campus library and bookstore. I believe it will have a positive impact on the spiritual and physical lives of your female students.
I wrote Balance That Works When Life Doesn't to help women move out of a harried frantic lifestyle, and into a more strengthened, settled life. Issues that apply to every woman are addressed: diet, exercise, rest, thought-life, soul nourishment, serving for the right reasons, and pursuing a deeper walk with God. In a gentle but compelling way, the reader is inspired to live a more focused, healthy, and intentional life and to be more assured of the fact that there is a significant call on her life.
Each chapter ends with study questions that can be used during personal devotional times or in a group setting. Balance That Works has also been used in many book clubs and has received great reviews. It is my hope that I can place it in the hands of as many women as possible.
This is what The Saturday Evening Post wrote about Balance That Works:
"Susie Larson's balance book deserves a place in every busy woman's backpack, purse, or briefcase. Each chapter yields dozens of gems that can be mined by the most fragmented reader whose 'down time' is often measured in minutes if not seconds. Even the briefest prayer, study tip, or bulleted list of suggestions has the potential to change the reader's day, or, better yet, her life."
Please contact me directly at the email address listed above if you have any questions. If you would like to place a book order simply go to: www.harvesthousepublishers.com or www.amazon.com
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to consider the words of this letter and my book, Balance That Works When Life Doesn't. May God bless you as you continue to equip the minds and hearts of the next generation of Kingdom servants.
Peace in Him,
Susie Larson
